380 Lenox Ave. Harlem

This is just an amazing group of people. Everyone is here because they want to live in Harlem and they want to watch it grow and "be a part of it." We had our first Meet & Greet night tonight in our beautiful lobby. Everyone was just so friendly and wants to make it a fun building and have all sorts of things going on. We may even do a neighborhood block party. There just is nothing like this in NYC. I will put more on www.NewNewYorker.com and www.NYCMove.com THis is just a great place!

Citarella's In Harlem

Its great that we have this store up here, its sooo clean and the staff is excellent and the preparedfoods are a lifesaver for us. The fish is really fresh too. There seems to be a nice crowd of people in their all the time. I hate when I read that there are no healthy food shops up here as this is a great example. I am going to review the store fuller on www.NewNewYorker.com

HUDSON RiVER CAFE

This was one of the most wonderful dinners in a long time, it was a mini vacation. The food was outstanding and the service and presentation memorable. We are going back all the time. On Thurs, Fri and Sat. and SUndays they have live music and the place is amazing. The crowd is wonderful too. I can't stop raving. Look at http://www.newnewyorker.com/ for my fuller review. Its on 12th Avenue and West 133rd Street. Just go there.

Dinner in Harlem

Tonight we ate at Havanna, on Broadway at West 114th Street. It was really great, the food was excellent the Sangria too good. Its close to Lenox, about 5 minutes by car. Beer is only $3.00 there. They have live music on Wed and Thursday and a Gosspel Brunch on Sundays. Its a large place and a total scene.

Shopped at WestSide Market on Broadway at 110th and its a great 247 gourmet market. Everything is fresh and home made or imported, its very cool. They cater too. Look for more write ups on these places at www.newnewyorker.com

Its not that hard to find good groceries in Harlem, it could be better and it will get better but I do love WestSide Market, its on Broadway and West 110 th Street. Its open 27/7 and has amazing fresh produce and meats and cheeses and all you want and need. Its going to be added to www.newnewyorker.com. I will keep adding more shopping tips for Harlem. In the meantime visit The Lenox on 129th and Lenox Ave. the place is GREAT...

Dining in Harlem

We ate at Sylvia's on Lenox Avenue, it was wonderful. The food was fresh and prepared well and they did make the salmon they way I asked for it, with nothing on it and just broiled. They are great there and we felt very comfortable. Everyone is just so friendly up here and welcoming. We saw they even have breakfast at Sylvia's too, and gosspel lunches on Sundays and all sorts of fun stuff, we'll be back alot. there are really no diners up here so places like Sylvia's will be my new kitchen!!

Moving on UP

Moved into Harlem on June 1. The new building THE LENOX at 380 Lenox Avenue and West 129th Street, is wonderful. The doormen and the super are all first class. Everyone in the neighborhood has been really friendly and welcoming. The people in our new building have all been so friendly. Its finally happening, New York is feeling like a neighborhood and when you walk down the street people actually say "hi". I am going to write alot on my new website about Harlem, the site is www.NewNewYorker.com.

Its been an easy commute to midtown, just take the #1 train on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue and in about 11 minutes you are in Times Square. We have lots to tell and lots to share so stay tuned for more or write to me and I can answer questions. I think this is going to be quite the adventure to watch all the new developments up here and to see people meld with eachother.
